B&K Universal
The Brief/Purpose

Possibly the most morally challenging job I’ve been a part of…and I’ve worked with BAE and American Tobacco.

So what is it they do? There’s no easy way to say this, and it's still a very uneasy fit for me: they provide animals and animal housing for medical testing.

When B&K Universal approached the company I was working at, my initial response was “I’m not doing it”, however after doing a lot of searching for a reason to do the work, the designer on the project came up with a great idea for the logo which reframed the whole project: A Drop of Life; as that, ultimately, was what the company gives to people.

My Role

Creative Director

Tasks: Creative Direction.

Outputs

Primarily, this was producing an identity that would sit on the usual corporate stationery, brochures, exhibition stands and website. Brand guidelines were offered but not taken by the client, meaning my role on this project was much more to guide the designer, as opposed to being hands on…they produced some great work.
