The Brief/Purpose

The founder of Parenting point is Jayne Ruff; an Occupational Psychologist, Company Director and working parent. She's fueled by her huge passion for psychology, and wanted to create a psychology based consultancy for new parents, focussing on both parenting and professional development: Parenting Point.

The purpose of Parenting Point is to give everyone the self-belief that they can flourish as a parent and a professional by positively uniting both worlds.

Jayne came to me looking for help in creating a strong visual identity and website.

The Restrictions

  • Name must remain the same to maintain link with management consultancy 'Changing Point'

Outputs

As this project was the start of something entirely new, there were many elements that needed to be created from scratch, starting with the brand and visual identity, including a logo.

Now, if I were to get all technical, I'd begin by saying the logo has a propositional density of 5:2. But I won't bore you with the technical waffle. I'll simply say that the logo represents the P of Parenting Point, along with symbols for pregnancy, a person, a brain, and balance.

The visual scribble style used on the images is a unique thing to Parenting Point, and it represents the madness that life can be, but despite all that madness and uncertainty, you can still create something meaningful when zoomed out. [This is easily replicated internally through training and computer scripts.]

The website was designed with ease in mind, allowing for Jayne to easily add blog posts and make other sitewide changes.
